Present through 8/31/1864. No further service record. Brother of James Harvey Mayes. Married Victoria Painter, 12/31/1908, Page County, Va. Member of the Rosser-Gibbons Camp, Confederate Veterans, Luray, Va. When he died he was one of the last three Confederate soldiers in Page County, Virginia
