Nell Gray Williams

Funeral services were held Monday, August 7, 2000 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Nell Gray Williams, age 78, of Prentiss, who died at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg on August 4. Dr. French Tripp and Dr. Baxter Kruger officiated. Interment followed in the Prentiss Cemetery with Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were: Don Kruger, Kelvin McDuffey, Frank Edwards, David Locke, Hiram Williams, Billy Parish, Jimmy Bynum, David Cloyd, Duke Garraway, Grant Courtney, Wesley Daughdrill, and Vic Garraway.

Honorary pallbearers were: Helen Stamps, Lou Mikell, Betty Kruger, Blanche Speights, Jewel Garraway, Bobbie Foster, Carolyn Tyrone, Patricia Speed, Bessie Arrington, Peggy Joy Dumas, and Betty Davis.

Mrs. Williams was a native of Jefferson Davis County, the daughter of William Wesley Gray and Clara Luper Gray. She was a member of Prentiss Presbyterian Church. She retired in 1989 from the Jefferson Davis County School System after teaching for 35 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Williams of Prentiss, and Olivia W. Farish of Hattiesburg; one grandson, Chris Farish of Seattle, WA; and one niece, Rachel Courtney of Brandon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol Williams in 1990.
