Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Becker's Funeral Chapel for William Albert Waite, 85, who died at his home here on Sunday after a four day illness. Rev. R. Geiswinkler of Hope Lutheran Church officiated. The body was sent to Sidney for burial on Wednesday.
Mr. Weight was born March 27, 1865 at Bellwood, PA, [the son of William E. Weight and Elvira Martha Trueman. He moved by oxcart to Iowa in 1887]. In 1917 he moved to Lodgepole where he farmed until moving here in 1933. He married Louise Baker at Woodbine, IA, February 15, 1888. She died December 2, 1928. On March 6, 1930 he was married to Minnie Clark in Dakota City.
Survivors in addition to the widow are five sons, Herman W. and George T., both of St Helen, Ore., Arthur of Woodbine, Edward R. of Lodgepole, and William E. of Dalton; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Sheppard of Pisgah, IA, Mrs. Clara Huffaker of Des Moines, IA, and Mrs. Viola Marel of Manitou Springs, CO; a half brother John Waite of Earling, IA, a half sister Mrs. Margaret Barber of Sioux City; four stepsons, Ira and Clarence Clark of Sioux City, Edward Clark of Westfield, IA, and Harry Clark, of this city; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Frank Riffle, Mrs. Hazel Cownie, Mrs. Pearl Beeken,
and Mrs. Leo Stowers, all of this city, and three grandchildren.
