A.J. Lowe, 78, went to Oklahoma as a young man. He moved to Young County, Texas in 1905. He farmed near Jean until moving to Olney in 1918. Among his farm holdings west of town was an oil pool discovered in 1925. A wealthy man, Mr. Lowe was enabled to retire. Of the Catholic faith, Mr. Lowe donated toward the building the Catholic Church in Olney.
He was survived by his wife, one nephew and two nieces.
