Michael H. Freund, 85, of 1007 E. 2nd died at 10 p.m. Monday in St. Rita's Hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1888, in Landeck, he was the son of the late Charles and Katherine Krebs Freund.

He married the former Theresa Plescher, who survives, on Feb. 28, 1916. Freund, a self-employed carpenter, was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Louise) Reinsel of 519 W. McKibben, Mrs. Paul (Juliana) Hermon of 1245 N. Stevick Rd., Mrs. Thomas (Rita) Wehinger of 1335 N. Stevick Rd. and Mrs. Ray (Rose) Becker of Elida; two sons, Michael H. Jr. of 1123 Carlisle and Thomas of 3275 Crestview Drive; a brother, Ralph of Spencerville; a sister, Florence Schindler of Bryan, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church by Fr. Norbert Howe. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7 tonight at Siferd Westwood Chapel where an evening prayer service is planned for 8 p.m.
