EDWARD "Edd" HARLAN CANTRELL, 87, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 1975 at the Paintsville Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Cantrell was born in Johnson County on May 12, 1888 the son of William and Phoebe Catherine (McKenzie) Cantrell.

Edd was a member of the United Baptist Church and a Fuget resident.

Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his parents, William and Phoebe, and his wife, Sarah (Adams) Cantrell.

Survivors include two sons, Fonzie Cantrell and Burl Cantrell both of Flat Gap; two daughters, Mrs. Clora Cantrell from Fuget, and Mrs. Ola Pennington, Red Bush, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Golda Hall of Rich Hill, Ohio. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7th at Cold Springs United Baptist Church with Elders Lonza Reed, Melvin Wright and Ellis Doolin officiating. Burial followed at the family cemetery at Flat Gap.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Paintsville Funeral Home.
