Thomas married Myrtle Alpers on April 16, 1911 in Nevada County, California.
Notes by his Grandson Gary Winney.
Thomas Jeffery was known by his friends and family as "teamy". A cousin-jack nick name with no known basis. He led a very simple life as a hard rock miner of 25yrs under ground work. He enjoyed hunting with his dogs, drinking warm beer with his friend at the local bar. Working in his garden growing the winters supply of vegetables. He lived his entire life in Boston Ravine his residence at time of death was on a portion of the property owned by his father and mother. I think he ventured out of Grass Valley perhaps only a hand full of times during his life.
Thomas's parents are in the old part of Elm Ridge their grave site is marked only with their names, no dates. Robert J. Jeffery came to Boston Ravine in or about 1861 from Cornwall England and was a bar keeper for years, bought up land which remained in the family until about the mid fifties. I know nothing about him other than that he was never mentioned by my Grandfather. With the exception of the bar where he was a bar keep was still standing when I was a boy. It was right out of the western movie set, swinging doors, hiching rail, water troth and all. It was boarded up as I remember it. It burned to the ground in the earlier fifties and the location was where the highway to Marysville departs from Auburn highway. He was married to Charlotte (York). I do not know anything about her.
