Son of Edward and Laura Rule Walker. Married to: 1st-Clara McDaniel (divorced); 2nd-Maureen Unknown (died of cancer in Gladewater, TX); 3rd-Mrs. Johnnie Watkins. Parts of info from the NEW ENCYCLOPEDIA OF TEXAS, Volume II, by the Texas Historical Society: "Howard B. Walker, an expert in the management of drilling and production, joined the circle of oil operators of Gladewater, Texas, upon the discovery of the East Texas field in 1931, having previously spent a quarter of a century in the drilling, production and refining ends of the petroleum industry throughout Oklahoma and Texas. For the last decade and a half Mr. Walker has been General Superintendent for Galvez Oil Corporation, managing the Company's field activities out of the home office at Tulsa, until he came to East Texas where he has since had the additional charge of all drilling and production on their holdings in this area, operating from the branch office. Mr. Walker began his oil career in Oklahoma, in 1906, in the field at Cleveland, as a pumper and roustabout for the Vernon Oil Company. Mr. Walker was born in Kansas on the seventeenth day of December, 1888, and is a son of Ed Walker and Laura Rule Walker, who moved from Sherman to Mannford, Oklahoma, and later to Azusa, California. Both are natives of Illinois, Mr. Walker died at Mannford in 1927, and Mrs. Walker still makes her home in Azusa, California. Howard B. Walker was educated in the schools of Oklahoma. Mr. Walker was married on the thirty-first day of December, 1910, at Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Miss Clara McDaniel, a daughter of Robert McDaniel and Ellen Giles McDaniel, of Mannford, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Walker have two children, a daughter, Ellen Gerell (should be Ellen Genell), and a son, Howard Gordon. They reside at the company lease, out of Gladewater. Mr. Walker has made hunting and fishing his hobbies for many years. He belongs to the Methodist Church, and is a Mason, a Modern Woodman of America, and a Royal Neighbor."
