Mrs. Haynes was born Sept. 26, 1923, in Centreville to William W. and Elma Shropshire Duty.
She was a retired telephone operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) and was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Gloster.
Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence C. Haynes; and two sisters, Ruth Davis and Bessie Aspen [sic Aspan].
Survivors include a son, Tommy Fries of Gloster; a sister, Phalby Ashley of Hattiesburg; two nephews, Michael Aspen and A.M. Davis Jr., both of Texas; and a niece, Rita Ashley of Hattiesburg.
