Mabel M. Andrus, 76, of 193 Kinley Hollow Road, Mill Hall, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, in Centre Community Hospital, State College. She had been in failing health for several months. She was born Sept. 26, 1926 in Mill Hall, the daughter of the late Howard and Florence Kennelley Fuller. On March 28, 1948, she married Gene E. Andrus Sr., who survives. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Andrus was a lifelong member of the former Fairpoint United Methodist Church. She was employed at the former Sylvania plant in Mill Hall, the former Fromm's Dry Cleaning of Lock Haven, and the former Woolworth's Department Store in Lock Haven. She supported many charities in the area and afar. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds from her home. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and the outdoors. In addition to her husband, Gene E. Andrus Sr., she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James (Sharon) Sheasley of Nittany; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Ann Andrus of Mill Hall; and two beloved grandchildren, Michael Sheasley, at home, and Jessica Sheasley of Atlanta, Ga. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene E. Andrus Jr., who died Feb. 12, 2002; two brothers, Clyde Fuller and Max Fuller Sr.; and a sister, Lois Laubscher. Private funeral services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. The Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the St. Mark Lutheran Church, Snydertown, through the funeral home.
