RICHARD THOMAS LEAKE, 67, of Rt. 2, Raywick, died at 6:20 a.m. May 1 at Spring View Hospital. Mr. Leake was a veteran of W.W. II, was a prisoner of war and was in the Bataan Death March. He received the American Theater Ribbon, American Defense Ribbon W/1, Bronze Star, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon W/1 Bronze Star, Philippine Defense Ribbon W/1 Bronze Star, Distinguished Unit Badge W/2 Bronze Clusters and the Victory Medal. He was a farmer and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick. His parents were the late John Bernard and Agnes Lou Gootee Leake. Survivors include: his wife, Mary G. Thomas Leake; three sons, Steve of Lebanon; Jude and Timothy Leake of Raywick; four daughters, Mrs. Janet Lyvers, Mrs. Elaine Masterson, Mrs. Michael "Connie" Williams and Miss Ann Leake of Raywick; three brothers, Wilson of St. Paul, Ind.; Newman of Lebanon and Ambrose Leake of Raywick; one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Fleece of Cleveland, Ohio; ten grandchildren. Funeral Mass was conducted at 11 a.m. May 4 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Thomas Caldwell officiated. Active pallbearers were William G. Vessell, J. E. Bickett, Joseph L. Mattingly, Elmer McCauley and Joe Paul Daugherty. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Newton, Junior Abell, Michael Drury, Joseph C. Mattingly, Jimmy Bickett and Henry McCauley. Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of the arrangements.
