Henry Marlowe, 77, of Huntley, died Friday, May 25, 1984 in Sherman Hospital, Elgin.

He was born on the Marlow farm near Mount Vernon, the son of William Lincoln and Victoria Hunt Marlow.

He was the owner of Marlowe's Feed and Hatchery, Huntley.

He attended Blackburn College and moved to Huntley in 1931 after graduating from the University of Illinois.

He was the first vocational agriculture instructor at Huntley High School, where he taught until 1951.

In 1933, he founded Marlowe's Feed and Hatchery, which celebrated its 50 anniversary in October 1983.

He was vice president of the State Bank of Huntley, president of the Illinois Feed Dealers Association and president of the McHenry County Fair.

He was a member of first Congregational Church, Huntley, Huntley Lions club and McHenry County Historical Society and a 4-H leader for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, whom he married in 1935; five children, Byron, Tallahassee, Fla., Elizabeth Ann Buchan, Waterford Wis., Lyle, Chester, N.J., Dean, Hampshire, and Faye Marlowe Holden, Bartlesville, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at first Congregational Church, Huntley, with Rev. Ronald Woodruff officiating. Burial was in Harrison-Carr cemetery, Ringwood.
