Private, Co. G 33rd Regiment, Arkansas Infantry CSA

The 33rd Infantry Regiment, organized during the summer of 1862, contained men from Polk, Montgomery, Sevier, and Pike counties. The unit was assigned to R. G. Shaver's and Tappan's Brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. It skirmished in Arkansas and participated in the fight at Jenkins' Ferry where 92 men were disabled

Fulker Cox was born about 1830 in Limestone Co., Al. and died Aug 3, 1863 in Little Rock, Ar..He married Sarah Ann Grindle, daughter of John Grindle and his first wife (unknown) Jul 31, 1856 in Limestone Co., Al., Sarah was born about 1841 in Alabama. In the 1860 federal census Fulker was living with his wife and a 3 month old daughter, Eliza M. Cox, in Limestone Co., Al..Fulker and his brother Samuel F. Cox enlisted in the Confederate Army Jun 19, 1862 in Columbia Co. Ar.. They were in Company G, 33rd Arkansas Infantry Regiment, CSA. It is not known where Fulker Cox was buried. It is not known what happened to Fulker's wife. His daughter, Elizabeth "Mollie" Cox married Henry Brown and they are buried at the Mt Nebo Cemetery in Hempstead Co., Ar..

It is assumed that Fulker is buried in a mass grave at the National Cemetery in Little Rock.
