Alameda S. Gumbert, 93, of Front Royal, Va., formerly of Berlin, died Feb. 1, 1983, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
She was born April 14, 1889, in Brothersvalley Township, daughter of John A. and Susan (Mishler) Brant. She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Gumbert, a son William Gumbert, a stepdaughter Mrs. Albert (Emma) Sundry and a grandson Sgt. John D. Gumbert; also two brothers and a sister. She is survived by these sons: Earl Baughman of Charleroi; George J. Gumbert of Berlin; Henry Gumbert of Washington, D.C.; and Milton Gumbert Moore of Pittsburgh; these daughters: Mrs. Herbert (Alverda) Higginbotham of Carnegie; Mrs. James (Annabelle) Beaber of Sherrodsville, Ohio; Mrs. Nicholas (Peggy) Williams of Springfield, Va.; and Mrs. Lloyd W. (Catherine) Ebaugh of Front Royal, Va., with whom she made her home for the past 18 years; also two stepdaughters: Mrs. Ord S. (Edna) Miller of Berlin and Mrs. Eli (Mary) Snyder of Detroit, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Ada I. Will, Somerset; Mrs. Elmira Moore of Carlisle; and Mrs. Elizabeth Miller of Greenville. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Berlin and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were held with the Rev. Kenneth S. Swanson officiating.
Interment, St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Hill.
