Birth: Aug. 30, 1812
Death: Jan. 27, 1882

Sidney was born in Greenup County KY. to Christopher and Elizabeth Banfield Flaugher. She was the Granddaughter of Adam Flaugher that was an American Revolutionary War Patriot who served in the militia from Cumberland County, PA. In 1829 Sidney and husband Samuel, and baby Cirrildy Lester traveled from Kentucky to Illionis as pioneers and purchased their first property in Douglas Co., IL in 1831. She was the Mother to 14 children and Four (4) of her sons served in the Civil War. She outlived Samuel by more than 20 years.

Sidney K. Flaugher Lester was my Paternal GGG Grandmother. She married Samuel Lester on Dec. 8, 1829 in Greenup Co., Kentucky. She was the mother of 14 children. She and Samuel were pioneers on the Illinois plains. This cemetery is located on what was th...(Read more)
