Carrie C. Blackwell, nee Sneed of St. Louis, formerly of New Haven, passed away November 21, 1979 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. She attained the age of 86 years, 9 months and 11 days. She was born February 10,1893 at Hayden, MO. Her mother was the late Melvina Sneed. She was batized at Yancy Mills and received her education at Hayden. On February 21, 1909, she was united in marriage to Harvey L. Blackwell at Hayden. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by five sons, Monroe of Sikeston, Melvin of St. Louis, Chester of the State of California, Raymond of Sullivan, and Bob of the state of Louisiana; two daughters, Margaret Branson of Kansas and Rose Grannemann of New Haven; five daughters-in-law, 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, one daughter, Fern Starks, and two grandchildren. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven. Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 24 from the Fertig-Groner Funeral Home with interment in the New Haven Cemetery.
