Born Aug. 31, 1907, in Manitowoc, Wis., one of 10 children to Edward and Bertha (Krueger) Stehula.
During her early years the family moved to Algoma where her father owned and operated the bar/dance hall/orchard in Bruemmerville.
She married DeWayne Richmond on June 23, 1931, at the St. Agnes Episcopal Church. He preceded her in death in October, 1984.
Also preceding her were two babies, Kenneth and Shirley, her parents and in-laws, sisters and brothers and granddaughter, Candy Laurent Pittro. She is survived by a daughter Geraldine (Ken) Laurent, three grandchildren, Mickey (Cheri), Todd and Michelle (Mike) and their four children, Pfc. Justin Laurent, USMC San Diego (Lindsey), Joshua, Wyatt and Wayde, Scottsdale.
She was employed at the Algoma Memorial Hospital a number of years as their chief cook and was well known for her cooking and baking skills.
She loved arts and crafts and was a member of the Eastern Stars and the Episcopal Guild.
After the death of her husband, she first moved to Manitowoc to be near her three sisters. Then in 1999, she moved to Scottsdale and lived her remaining life at the Scottsdale Village Square.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, with a viewing on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. and up until 10:45 a.m. Thursday. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, Algoma with Vicar Robert Hoppe officiating.
Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
