Joseph was the son of Clemens Boever & Mary Peters. He married Mary Reheis (daughter of Jacob Reheis & Suzanna Ziegler) 25 September 1889 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, St. Louis, MO. They had 11 children: George, Mary, Joseph, Agnes, Elizabeth, Margaret, Laura, Andrew, Louise, Celeste & Louis.
