1910: May 6 - listed as "Moore, Hume R.", living with parents and sisters in Shenandoah, Va.
1914 - December 23 - Married Charlotte Virginia Roudabush, in Hagerstown, Maryland. From the Harrisonburg Daily News Record: "Young Couple Marry -
Miss Charlotte Roudabush, daughter of Mr. D.F. Roudabush, and Mr. Hugh (Hume) Moore, son of Mr. Howard Moore, all of Shenandoah City, were married in Hagerstown, Md., December 23. The Page Record comments on them as being the youngest couple ever known to marry from Page County. The bride is the niece of Mrs. S.L. Roudabush, of Harrisonburg."
1915: April 23 - birth of first child, Robert Fenton Moore.
1917: February 28 - birth of second child, Helen Virginia Moore.
1917: June 4 - Registered for the Draft, World War I. Listed as Yard Brakeman, Norfolk & Western RR Co., Shenandoah, Va. Blue eyes, black hair. "Do you claim exemption?" Answer: "Family to support".
1919: March 22 - Hume's application (recommended by R.W. McDaniel & H.B. Reid) was read to the Ashlar Masonic Lodge, Shenandoah, Va. Hume was a yard brakeman when he submitted the application.
1919: April 26 - Made an Entered Apprentice, Ashlar Lodge. No further record of Hume with the Ashlar Lodge.
1920: January 6 - Enumerated in census as living on Third Street (renting), and occupation listed as railroad conductor. Wife and children also live in home.
1930: April 16 - Living on Seventh Street (owned home), Shenandoah, Va., with wife and children. Occupation listed as Sergeant of Police, Town of Shenandoah.
Following his separation (and later, divorce) from Charlotte, he headed west and resided in a number of places.
Believed gone to Wyoming first, where he held a job riding fences on a sheep ranch. Per Howard Crouch - "... Hume had left home and was gone for several years. He finally got to Wyoming and got a job riding fences on a sheep ranch (Ranch hand). Wyoming has snow, cold and long winters. He said 'Early in September we would go into town to get supplies for the winter for we would be snowed in until spring. Regardless of the cold, snow and hard work, we always had good food. At every meal we had our choice of RAM, LAMB, SHEEP or MUTTON'."
1935: April 1 - according to the 1940 census, on 4/1/1935 he lived in Silverton, San Juan County, Colorado.
1937 - Married Lottie Genevive Smith Doepel(born in Kansas, ca. 1898, and had attended 2 years of college; she was divorced).
1940: May 9 - Living, with wife, Lottie, in Election Precinct 2, Georgetown (West of Rose Street and Precinct Line), Clear Creek County, Colorado, and working as a gold miner.
1941: Lived in or near Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
1942: April 27 - Enrolled in the "old man draft" for World War II. Listed as 5'11", "loss of first joint of left index finger", blue eyes, black hair, ruddy complexion. Residence: 301 W 19th St., North Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. Employed by Floyd, Bacon, and Davis, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Also lived in Ilmo, Missouri (working on the Southern Pacific Railroad); Electra, Texas; Eufala, Oklahoma; Wendover, Utah (yard master for Western Pacific RR); and finally, Thornburg, Arkansas.
1960: November 27 - Died at home; age: 65 y, 3 mos.
According to his obituary in the Morrilton Headlight, (11/30/1960), he ran the Hill Top Grocery Store and Station.

"Robert Hume Moore, 65 of Perryville, Arkansas, died suddenly at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, November 27th at his home.
A son of the late J. H. and Mary Rosina Moore of Shenandoah, he was born Sept. 30, 1895 in Shenandoah where he spent most of his life. He was former yard brakeman at Shenandoah for the Norfolk and Western Railway, and served as Chief of Police in Shenandoah for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lottie Moore of Perryville, a son, Robert F. Moore of Fayette, Indianna [Lafayette, Indiana], a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Coffman of Tucson, Arizona; five grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. Nellie Lauck of Martinsburg, W. Va, and Mrs. John L. (Annette) Crouch of Shenandoah. Funeral services were conducted from the Reed's [Reid's, now Harris Funeral Home] Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial took place at Morrilton, Arkansas."
