Mamie Banks, 90, formerly of Hillsville, died on Feb. 12, 2009. Mrs. Banks was the daughter of the late Monty & Minnie Dalton. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Clayton & Martha Banks of Memphis, TN; daughters & sons-in-law, Nancy & Daniel Beeson of Pilot Mt., NC and Fran & Mark Hollingsworth of Lewisville, NC; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Gardner of Michigan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Banks; one brother, Gernon Dalton and an infant son, Billie Ray. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial followed in the Heath Banks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Fellowship Baptist Church in c/o Theoa Nester, 57 Bittersweet Lane, Woodlawn, VA 24381. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel of Hillsville was in charge of the arrangements.
