Debra had a strong interest in paranormal activity. She founded T.H.E.M. (The Haunting Evidence Messengers), a New York City-based paranormal research team, and 1800heaven.com. A member of the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena (AA-EVP), she was a featured guest twice on "The Maury Show" and on The History Channel's "MonsterQuest: Ghosts." Her son, Joseph Caruso, died in 2004. Surviving are a daughter, Alexa Caruso; her parents, Anthony and Sandra Suarato; two brothers, Anthony Jr. and Joseph Suarato, and her companion, Dennis Carollo.
