"Peter Printz, who took charge at Lewistown as Postmaster in 1869, was an old patriotic citizen extensively engaged in the manufacture of bricks, as evidenced by deep excavations inside and outside Borough limits in earlier days in search of clay used for the purpose. His patriotism had manifested itself in various ways during the war of the sixties during which, being a man of family, he gave several sons to fight for the perpetuity of the Union. During the early years of the Printz regime a number of new settlements grew up along the Sunbury and Lewistown railroad and many post offices were established within Mifflin County borders."

"Printz - In Lewistown, August 20, 1881, aged 76 years, 6 months and 24 days. Mr. Printz had been a resident of this place more than 40 years and held the position of postmaster for several years. His funeral was largely attended by citizens, and by Lodge 97, I.O.O.F."

Additional child born to wife Margaret LOTZ/LUTZ Printz but as yet not connected was Peter Printz Jr.
