Mrs. George Little Undergoes Operation; Mrs. Stratton's Shoulder Broken
TWO ARE IN HOSPITAL
Those hurt in the automobile crash when the car owned and driven by T A. Etter of Richland was struck by a work train at Yorkville, Friday are recovering as well as could be expected. Mrs. George Little was the most seriously injured of the party. She sustained internal injuries. She was taken to Bronson hospital where she underwent a serious operation. Mrs. Sarah Stratton received a broken shoulder and was also taken to the hospital. Mrs. J. R. Hogg was badly bruised and cut. She was thrown fifteen feet from the machine. Mrs. Lucy Knappen escaped with minor injuries. Prof. Smith received cuts and bruises about the head. The party were on their way to the community picnic at La Belle when the accident occurred. Richland Woman Had Lived For Many Years in Kalamazoo County
Funeral is Held at Late Home-Many Friends Come to Pay Last Respects
Mrs. Mary Barnes Little who died Wednesday morning as the result of injuries received in an automobile crash in Yorkville, Friday, had lived in Kalamazoo county practically all her life. She was widely known and loved throughout the county.
Before her marriage she was Miss Mary Barnes. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Barnes. She was 51 years old.
Mrs. Little is survived by her husband, George E. Little, her daughter, Caroline, and two sons, Raymond and Alvin, and four sisters. Her sisters are Mrs. Andrew Wylie of Shelby; Mrs. James T. Upjohn of Kalamazoo and Miss Emilia Barnes and Miss Fanny Barnes of Richland.
Mrs. Little’s death came as an added shock because she was thought to be recovering well from her injuries and from the operation which followed.
The funeral was held at the late home in Richland this, Friday, afternoon. A large number of friends came to pay their last respects.
