Funeral for Lyle Carroll Hill, 82, of Moulton will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Moulton Baptist Church with Parkway Funeral Home directing and Dr. Darryl Wood, Dr. Ron Ethridge and Mark Wakefield officiating.
Burial will be in Moulton Memorial Garden with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family visitation will be Monday from 11 to noon and the public visitation will be Monday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Hill, who died at his home surrounded by his family, was born July 31, 1927, in Moulton to Clarence Cevere Hill and Zola Mae Hill (McMillian). He was a life long resident of the Moulton area, where he was an active member and life deacon at Moulton Baptist Church. Mr. Hill enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December of 1945, and served his country for two years before returning home. He was employed by Wolverine Tube of Decatur for 40 years and retired to his residence outside of Moulton. He was on the board of directors at Wolverine Credit Union for many years, a faithful volunteer of the Good Samaritan organization, a lifetime Master Mason at Lodge #6 in Moulton, as well as, a loyal fan of the University of Alabama football program. One daughter preceded him in death, Linda Carol Hill; one brother, Eugene Hill; and one great-grandchild, Julian Quirk.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Hill; two sons, Mike Hill (Becky) of Athens and Steven Hill (Mary) of Moulton; one daughter, Kathy White (Jeff) of Rockingham, N.C.; one sister, Julia Mae Dutton of Moulton; grandchildren, Christy Chambers, James Chambers (Ember) of Huntsville, Lyle Hill of Moulton, Shelley McAfee of Cullman and Amanda Lee (Jerry) of Tuscaloosa.; great-grandchildren, Autumn Quirk of Huntsville, Bayleigh and Candice Chambers of Huntsville, Landon McAfee of Cullman, and Lauren and Jonathan Lee of Tuscaloosa.
Pallbearers will be newphews. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Moulton Baptist Church.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Youth Fund of Moulton Baptist Church and Hospice of the Valley.
