Robert L. Elliott, 46, member of the District 100 Board of Education and former president of the Belvidere Chamber of Commerce, died at 5:10am today in St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Elliott was a certified public accountant, and had been a partner in the Harms & Elliott accounting firm here and in Rockford for 15 years. He was serving his second term as a member of the school board.

He was born Feb. 17, 1920 in Taylorville, the son of Glenn and Ruth Ladd Elliott. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1942 and on Dec. 16, 1944, married Jewel McBride in Rockford.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Randall, 17, at home; his mother in Taylorville; two brothers, Harold, Rockford, and Alvin of Fond du Lac, Wis.; and one sister, Mrs. Annabelle Oesterlinger of Philadelphia, PA.

In addition to his school board and chamber of commerce activities, Mr. Elliott was a member of Belvidere First Presbyterian Church, the National Association of Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, past president of the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Illinois Society of CPAs, and was active in Belvidere Elks, Rotary and IOU clubs. He also was a former treasurer of Bel-Mar Country Club.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Whitlock-Wheeler-Sabien Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Friday. Burial will be in Highland Garden of Memories.
