Suggested edit: Hello,
I wanted to let you know Dearborn A. Acker did not marry Lydia Conway. Someone has confused him with D. A. (David Alfred) Acker who was from Alabama but married Lydia Conway on 8 Jul 1872 in Cherokee County, Texas. The marriage record actually says "D. A. Acker," but because David Alfred Acker went back to Alabama and married Martha Anne Windle in 1883, people have gotten the two D. A. Ackers mixed up. They kept looking for a "D. A. Acker" and found Dearborn in Texas, even though he was married to someone else at the same time with other children.
Dearborn A. Acker married Sarah Ann D'Spain in 1873 (according to the 1900 and 1910 census records). They are living together in the 1880 census with their children Eula and Columbus.

Dearborn could not be the father of George William Acker because George was born in 1873 to Lydia Conway and David Alfred Acker (who had married 8 Jul 1872 in Cherokee County, TX). As you can see, Eula, daughter of Dearborn and Sarah was born in 1873.

It appears D. A. (David Alfred) Acker left Lydia Conway Acker, as well as the two children he had with her, George William Acker and Edgar Lee Acker (born 1878 in Stephens County, Texas), and returned to his birthplace of Alabama, where he married Martha Ann Windle on 21 Dec 1883 and raised another family.

Lydia then married Calvin Asbury Spivey on 27 Jan 1884 in Hill County, Texas, and had two more children with him; Lima Spivey (born 1888) and Ernest Lenwood Spivey (born 1891).

Please let me know if you have any questions. Lydia is my cousin, and I have researched the Conway family for over 25 years. I have all the documentation for the above information if you need it.

Thank you for the biography edit and for all you do on Find-A-Grave.
