Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Elliott, 78, of Taylorville died 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Meadow Manor Nursing Home, Taylorville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville. Mrs. Elliott was born in Taylorville, a daughter of John W. and Harriett Lilly Ladd. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Taylorville and the Taylorville chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She married Alvin Glenn Elliott Feb. 2, 1918, in Taylorville. He died May 12, 1962. She leaves sons, Harold of Rockford; Alvin of Fon du Lac, Wis.; daughter, Mrs. Annabelle Oesterling of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren. A son, Bob, preceded her in death.
