Hubert Shinn, Warsaw, Mo., died April 22, 2005, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Mo.

He was born September 6, 1924, in Benton County, Mo., to Walter and Edith Breshears Shinn. He grew up near Bentonville and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1941. He married Thelma Gaylord in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1946. They lived in the Bentonville community until August 1973, when they moved to a farm near Quincy. He owned and operated Shinn's Garage from the early 1950's until his health failed in 2001. For the past year and a half he had been a resident of the Warsaw Health Care Center.

Survivors include a son, Timothy Gene Shinn, Independence, two daughters, Jane Moore, Everton, Arkansas, and Gale Ann Wilkinson, Hamilton, Mo.; a sister, Geneva Adams, Belton-Raymore; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services were April 25 at the Reser Funeral Home Chapel, Warsaw. Burial was in L. P. Union Cemetery near Warsaw.

Said he only liked two kinds of pies: Hot ones and cold ones.

Took many trips hunting, fishing and sight seeing including the lower 48 states, Canada, Alaska, Newfoundland, Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize and England.

Successful hunting trips for many White Tail Deer, including Mule Deer, Elk, Moose, Turkey, Grouse and numerous Rabbits and Squirrels.

Successful fishing trips include Spoonbill, Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Flounder, King Mackerel, Sharks, Salmon, Trout, Catfish, Carp, Rooster Fish, Asian Catfish and other exotic fish.
