Lou A. Scholten
Was born on November 12, 1923 in Eli, Texas. She was taken to her heavenly home on November 16, 2004, shortly after her 81st birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Nettie Adams of Floydada, Texas, and husbands, James Masterson of Sunsites, Arizona and Lt. Col. Alphonso Nilo USA, retired, of Tucson, Arizona, author of Sahuaro High School Alma Mater. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Gerrit J. Scholten, USAF retired, and his daughter, Jacqueline (Robert) Scholten Smith. She leaves her daughters, Deborah Nilo Otero and Nancy (James) Nilo Chase; her grandchildren, Dusty (Jodee) Otero, Antonia Otero, Kyle (Jessica) Bailey and Cory King; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Comet, Kylee and Micah Otero; and brother, Boone (Ruth) Adams of Floydada, Texas. She was an active member of Davis Monthan Retired Officers Wives Club, Goldstar Wives, Davis Monthan Women's Golf Association, and Dorado 9 Holers at Dorado Country Club. She played five holes just two weeks ago. She loved her golf. She loved life. She was loved by many. She never knew a stranger. We will all miss you, Lou. Service will be held Friday, November 19, 2004 at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to American Cancer Society or to Fountain of Life Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 710 S. Kolb Rd., Tucson, AZ, 85710.
