HAWLEY - Jacqueline "Jackie" Darden, 78, of Hawley, died Thursday, June 16, 2005 in Abilene. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today in Hawley Cemetery with Ken Andress officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Born in Fletcher, Oklahoma on September 21, 1926, Jackie was the daughter of the late Rosa Etta (Oldham) and Louis Cleveland Stillwell. She graduated from high school in Iraan, Texas, and attended Draughon's Business College in Abilene. She moved to Hawley from Pampa, Texas in 1979.
Jackie married Earl C. Darden, Jr. on October 25, 1947, in Abilene. He preceded her in death on December 5, 2000. Mrs. Darden was a homemaker and a Baptist. Her hobbies were making candy and crochet.
Survivors include her son, Rodney Earl Darden of Tyler; her daughter, Patricia Virden and husband, Sam, of Hawley; a broth- er, Raymond Louis Stillwell of El Cajon, California; grandchil- dren, Michael Ballard, Shannon Bricker, Joy Darden, Twila Darden and Rodney Earl Darden, Jr.; and six great-grandchil- dren.
