Texas Coaster, October 16, 1947:

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Kroesche, 70, were held from St. Paul's Lutheran church, Rosenberg, Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Rev. H. Probst officiated at the services, and burial was in the Rosenberg cemetery. Mrs. Kroesche died at 6:45 p.m. Friday, October 10. She had suffered from a heart ailment for two years, and had been critically ill a number of times, but always recovered again. During the week preceding her death she had been feeling much better than usual.

Mrs. Kroesche was born at New Braunfels, Texas, September 9, 1877, and lived there for many years. She was confirmed March 22, 1891, and lived there for many years. She was confirmed March 22, 1891, and married Roert Kroesche December 14, 1898 at New Braunfels. This union was blessed with six chidlren, two daughters and four sons.

She moved to Fort Bend county in 1912, locating on a farm in the Cottonwood community. She moved to Rosenberg in 1925 and lived here continuously since that time. She had a host of friends, and was a faithful member of St. Pauls Lutheran church and the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society.

Mrs. Kroesche was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, four brothers and a grandson.

Immediate relatives who mourn her passing are her husband, Robert Kroesche; two daughters, Mrs. Leona Otto of Needville and Mrs. Lorene Gossett of Houston; three sons, Edwin of Needville, Herbert of Rosenberg and Bennie of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. E. Stratman, Mrs. Alfred Penshorn and Miss Emma Reeh, all of New Braunfels, and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Anna Kroesche was born at New Braunfels, Texas, Sept. 9, 1877, and lived there for many years. She was confirmed March 22, 1891 at New Braunfels. She was united in holy wedlock to Mr. Robert Kroesche Dec. 14, 1898, at New Braunfels. This union was blessed with 6 children, 2 daughters and 4 sons. She moved to Fort Bend County in 1912, locating on a farm in the Cottonwood Community. She moved to Rosenberg in 1925 and lived here continuously until the time of her sudden death. She had a host of friends by whom she was held in the highest esteem. She was a loving wife and a kind mother. She had a fine Christian character. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rosenberg and the Lutheran Ladies Aid Society for many years. Mrs. Kroesche had been suffering with a heart ailment for a period of about 2 years. During this time she was critically ill a number of times, but always recovered again. During the week preceding her death she had been feeling much better than usual. She becamse critically ill again late Friday afternoon, Oct. 10th, and after a short period of severe suffering fell asleep in Jesus at 6:45 o'clock. She attained to the age of 70 years, 1 month and 1 day.

She was preceded in death by one son, two sisters, four brothers and one grandson.

Pallbearers were Beeno Meyer, Oscar O. Kroesche, Herbert Reeh, Eugene Stratemann, Oscar R. Stratemann, Alvin Reeh, Max A. Bormann, and Martin L. Kroesche.
