She was the daughter of Joseph and Joyce Hailey Ellison.She was born in Crossroads,Douglas County,Missouri.She passed away in Springfield,Greene County,Missouri at the tender age of 94.
She graduated from Ava High School and received her B.S.degree
in education from State Missouri State University in Springfield,Missouri.She also studied at Oklahoma State
in library science. She taught in the Douglas County schools
and the Ava Public Schools.She retired from the Ava Schools
in 1969 after serving 16 y Henry Dean.ars as librarian.On May 28,1932, She w and Roy Carl Dean were united in marriage in
Buffalo.To this union one son was born,Joseph Henry Dean.After Monnoe and Roy retired,they enjoyed traveling for many years.She was a member of the Ava United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star,Ava Chapter #47.
She was also past president of Chapter IH of the PEO Sisterhood,past president of Business and Professional Women's Club,and member of XI Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.as secShe was also active in volunteering for the Douglas County
Chapter of the American Red Cross and served as secretary/treasure. She was chosfor the Ava Schoolen to attend one of the firstwork needlepoint
NDEA Schoo; Library Institute held at Oklahoma State College.
She was inducted into the Alumn Hall of Fame for the Ava School System.Some of her hobbies were raising flowers,cooking,embroidery,
