Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Joseph William Arnsdorf, 52, of 1501 Layard Drive, died Saturday at Martin Army Hospital.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Striffler-Hamby, Macon Road Chapel, with burial in the Post Cemetery at Fort Benning with full military honors.

He was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Marshall, Minn., a son of Rosa [KORPAL] Arnsdorf of Marshall and the late William Arnsdorf. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1966 after 22 years of service. He had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors, besides his mother, include his wife, Ms. Emma Irene Arnsdorf, Columbus; one son, two sisters, one brother, and several nieces and nephews.

ARNSDORF – Funeral services for Joseph William Arnsdorf will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Striffler-Hamby Chapel, Macon Rd., with Chaplin Lawrence A. Kelly officiating with interment in the Post Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of the Lindsey Creek Branch Post Office. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Irene Arnsdorf of Columbus; his mother, Mrs. Rose K. Arnsdorf of Marhall, Minnesota; one son, two sisters, one brother, several nieces and nephews.
