Amanda was a daughter of John C. Locke and
Elizabeth Bass. She was twin to Francis Locke.
She married Wesley O'Donald May 16, 1861 in Cedar County MO. Census records indicate Amanda was a mother to four children. The only documented names are John W. O'Donald, William Francis O'Donald, and Ellen O'Donald. Wesley O'Donald died October 6, 1872 per Amanda's Confederate pension application.

From the Denton Record-Chronicle: Mrs. Amanda Biggerstaff, 80, Died at Sanger Thursday a.m.
Mrs. Amanda Biggerstaff, 80 years, 1 month and 10 days old, died at the home of her son, Mr. O'Donald, at Sanger. She had been in ill health for sometime from complications caused by her extreme age. The remains were taken to Era, Cooke county,where the funeral services were held and interment made. Rev. Mr. Marshall of Sanger,assisted by Rev. Mr. Jackson an evangelist, conducted the services. Mr. O'Donald is the only relative living in Denton county but there are several in Cooke county whose names were not learned. It was stated that Mrs. Biggerstaff had lived at Sanger with her son for about seven years.
