AMERICUS --- Memorial services for Tyerus F. Adams will be held at a later date in Fort Benning. Adams, 84, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999.
He was a member of the Airborne Test Platoon and was an Airborne Rigger Warrant Officer, inducted into the Rigger's Hall of Fame in Fort Lee, Va. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, International Brotherhood of Military Parachutists, the American Legion and Fort Benning Masonic Lodge No. 579 F&AM. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus and the Couples Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Adams; children, Leslie Haines, Danelle Skala and Tyerus Adams Jr; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Hancock Funeral Home, and may be contacted at 644 Hwy. 19 South, Americus. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or First United Methodist Church of Americus.
