Services for C. Andrew Batie, 89, Indianapolis, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, North Indianapolis. Calling will be 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in Stuart Mortuary. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Batie, who died Friday at his home, was an iron worker, working 37 years for International Harvester Co. He retired in 1966. He had played professional baseball for the Negro League. Survivors--wife Susie Wright Batie; sons Clarence M., Richard C., Harold W., Warren S. Batie; daughters Marion Townsend, Wilma L. Greene, JoAnn Ford, Norma Bacon; sister Trilby Williams; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
