She was born on November 27, 1933, to Jack and Stella (Madewell) Argo, who preceded her in death along with her aunts, Vinnie Perry and Velvie Myers; brother, Jack Jr. Argo; sister, Annie Pauline King.
She is survived by her husband, John W.Scruggs; daughter, Janice (Mike) Tanner; sons, Johnny L. (Nancy), James (Elfa), Jeff (Avis), Jimmy (Kristy) and Mike (April) Scruggs; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. CST Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Stacey D. Smith officiating, with burial to follow in Fall Creek Cemetery.
Visitation after 11 a.m. CST today at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
