Robert Henry Elliott, age 73, of West Jefferson, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Elliott was born in Ashe County on June 30, 1936 to the late Carl and Pearl Pennington Elliott. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Gwyn Elliott, and one brother, Ronnie Elliott.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 3 p.m. at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Glenn Woodie. Burial followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites. The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Elliott is survived by: his wife, Ellen Sullins Elliott; one son, Robert Michael Elliott of Georgia; two brothers, Roger Elliott and Roy Elliott of West Jefferson; four sisters, Ruby Adkins of Jefferson, Retha Roark of Statesville, Ruth Roten of Millers Creek, Rita Lynn Elliott of Jefferson; one grandson, David Robert Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.
