Joseph Beecher died Friday December 11, 2009 at the age of 77. Born in Springfield on August 31, 1932 to Harold and Eleanor (Menton) Beecher, he was a 1952 graduate of Springfield Trade School. Joseph was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force with the 327th Fighter Interception Squadron. Upon being discharged from service, he began working for G.E. in Pittsfield. He then went to Wisconsin where he was employed by A. O. Smith, a truck and car frame manufacturer. In the 1970's, Joseph returned to Springfield where he worked for the Charles C. Lewis Company until retiring. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Joseph leaves the love of his life of 41/2yrs Gloria Tatro of Springfield, his friend Leo Valentine of Westfield and his caregiver Kathy Buoniconti. He was predeceased by his brother Edwin Beecher. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Thursday, December 17 at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
