Capt Simpson, Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 38th Infantry Division, 2nd Infantry Regiment, was Killed in Action during a major withdrawal of US forces from the area of Kuni-ri N. Korea. His body was not recovered. Simpson's name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing. Simpson was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart & Army Commendation Medal.
