William Warren Stevens, 39, of Amherst, died at a Kearney hopsital early Sunday morning with death attributed to injuries received in a tractor accident Friday evening. Stevens was riding the rear of a tractor driven by Andrew Lee, apparently fell from the tractor while leaving a field. All but 10 years of Stevens' life was spent in the Amherst area where he farmed eight miles north of Amherst.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the Miller Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Mamie Young officiating. Burial was in Miller cemetery.
Survivors: His wife, Etta Deldee; three children--Leslie Charles, Eldon Warren and Wendell Merle, all at home; his mother—Mrs. Laura Jane Stevens, Amherst; two sisters—Mrs. Ethel Lees, Waldon, Colorado and Mrs. Elva Albrecht, Miller; five brothers—Neil, Gibbon, Roy, Miller, M-Sgt. John, Washington, D.C., Eugene, Gibbon, Lawrence, with the Army in the Pacific.
