She joined the Methodist church in Grayson County in 1876. She helped organzie the Woman's Home Mission society of this city, and helped this socity raise the first $1,000 to pay for the present Methodist church.
They moved to Archer County in 1888, and to Archer City in 1889, settling in the southeast part where they operated their big ranch. Like many ranch families, they moved to town to put the children in school, but continued their stock raising business.
