Funeral Services for John T. Burrus were held at 2 o'clock Monday, June 13, at the Gwinn-Carothers chapel, the Rev. Walter Martin officiating. Burial was in the Hazel Dell cemetery.The services were largely attended by many friends.
John Thurman Burrus, son of Isaac Martin and Annetta Burrus, was born July 20, 1888. Ten brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Mr, Burrus was born and raised in the vicinity southeast of El Dorado Springs.
On May 19, 1909, he was united in marriage to Donna Pearl Barritt. To this union, six children were born, two of whom died in childhood. The four living are Mrs. Violet Woodford, Sedalia, MO; Mrs. Annetta Miller, El Dorado Springs; Chester Burrus, El Dorado Springs, and Mrs. Louise Rousseau, Kansas City, MO.
Surviving are his wife the four children, 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, besides other relatives. Mr. Burrus and wife had spent their 51 years of married life in the El Dorado Springs vicinity.
