Clara Jane (Booth) Hopper, of Mineral Wells and formerly of Stephenville, passed away on Saturday August 19, 2006 in a Mineral Wells Hospital. She was 96 years old.

Clara was born on June 10th, 1910 in Thurber, Texas to Joseph Alexander and Annie Jane (Gibson) Booth. She attended school in Thurber. In 1939 Clara married Ernest Cecil Hopper. Ernest preceded her in death on 9 February 1957.

Clara moved to Ranger where she worked as a cook for the Porky Pig, Ranger Hill Restaurant, and the Dairy Queen. After Clara retired, she moved to Stephenville and lived there for 20 years. When her health began failing health Clara move to Mineral Wells.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Gordon for many years. When she moved moved to Stephenville, she became a member of the First Baptist Church.

Clara is survived by a son Will Edd Hopper and wife Bea of Gordon, a grandson Randy Hopper of Amarillo, and great-grandchildren Addison and Grayson; several nieces, one nephew, and great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services were held Monday, 21 August 2006, at 10 a.m. in the New Gordon Cemetery.
