Funeral service for Charlie Zimmerman, 69, formerly of Harrison and Lusk, was held in Reedsport, Ore., January 15. He died January 11.

The service was conducted by The Rev. Glen Widmark, pastor of the Reedsport Baptist Church, at 11:00 a.m. at the Unger Funeral Home. Interment was in the Reedsport Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Randy Rochon, Cliff Barrett, Mike Johnson, Art Tollefson, Reedsport; Frank Russell, Winchester Bay; and Ray DeLange, Coos Bay.

Charlie Henry Zimmerman was born September 3, 1903, in Sioux County, Nebraska, to Irven and Mabel (Thayer) Zimmerman. He grew up on his father's ranch where he lived until he and Zella Howell were married March 12, 1926.

The couple moved to Wyoming and for six years lived on her mother's place. They then moved to Harrison and then Lusk where he became a deacon in the First Baptist Church rearing his family in a religious atmosphere.

In 1942 the family moved to Veronia, Ore., and after two years moved to McMinville where they made their home until 1952 when they moved to Reedsport where he was employed at the I. P. Plywood Mill until his retirement four years ago.

Zimmermans were the parents for five boys and one girl.

Survivors include the widow Zella; sons, Charles of Reedsport, Robert of Denver, Colo., Ira of Colfax, Wash., and Kenneth of Portland; daughter, Ruth E. DeLange of Coos Bay; brother Lawrence of Douglas; stepbrother, Myron Kjose of Bend, Ore.; sisters, Lillie Grapes of Denver, Colo., Margaret Kipp of Santa Ana, Calif., and Clara Haworth of Lusk; a sister-in-law, Helen Zimmerman of Omaha, Neb.; 26 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A one-year-old son, his parents and a sister preceded him in death.

Mrs. Howard (Clara) Haworth and Mrs. Lawrence Crofutt, Lusk, were among out-of-town relatives attending the funeral. Mrs. Haworth was a sister of Mr. Zimmerman and remained in Reedsport with the family just returning home recently, Mrs. Crofutt is a relative of Mrs. Zimmerman.

Other out-of-town relatives at the service were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kipp, Mrs. Ruth E. DeLange, Lawrence Zimmerman, Larry Zimmerman, Robert Zimmerman, Anity Holtman, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Zimmerman and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Zimmerman and Steve, Pvt. Mike Holtman, and John Eastman.
