Gilliland , a native of Harriman, Tenn., was a longtime resident of Mobile. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps.
He was a longtime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 49 and a life member of McCormack Lodge F&AM. Other memberships included Abba Temple and Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lillian "Peewee" Green Gilliland ; one son, Robert Brian Gilliland ; and two grandchildren.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
