Funeral services for Cheryl "Cheri" Ann Buice Barnes, 54, of Williston, SC will be held three p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Williston Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials contributions may be sent to Barnwell County Animal Shelter Foundation, P.O. Box 1009, Barnwell, SC 29812. Cheri passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009.
Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of James Marion Buice, Sr. and the late Rebecca Starnes Wegner.
She retired from the VA Medical Center, Augusta, GA. Cheri had a big heart and a generous spirit. She especially loved children and animals and they loved her, too.
Survivors include her husband, John Thomas Barnes of the home; her father, Jim (Ruby) Buice of Williston, SC; a sister, Janet B. (Jerry) Nesmith of North Charleston, SC; brothers, Tim (Sallie) Buice of Lexington, SC and Jim "Pop" (Laura) Buice of Williston, sister-in-laws, Leslie (Sherwell) Carey of Martinez, GA and Judy (J.W.) Jones of Augusta, GA; brother-in-law, Gilbert (Lacy) Barnes of Augusta, GA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
