OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)

Frederick W. Allmann, 79 years old, North Manchester, R.R. 3, was fatally hurt in an auto accident on the Servia road about one and a half miles southeast of North Manchester Friday afternoon. He died in the Wabash County hospital here at 5:05 o'clock Friday evening. Dr. L.W. Yoder, coroner, was investigating the case to determine an official verdict.

Investigation revealed that Mr. Allmann, a retired farmer, was driving toward North Manchester and his machine went off the highway at a culvert and upset. He was badly crushed in the chest and suffered a fractured leg. Apparently no one saw the accident, which was discovered later by a neighbor who called a doctor. Whether Mr. Allmann became ill and lost control of the car, or a mechanical defect caused the wreck were factors being considered by those making the investigation.

Mr. Allmann was a native of Indiana, having been born Feb. 16, 1870, the son of Carl and Margaret (King) Allmann. He had been a resident of this county for 40 years. His marriage to Elizabeth King occured June 14, 1898 in Miami county. Mrs. Allmann and a daughter, Florence, were killed in an auto accident Sept. 28, 1947.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Richard Ulman, Peru R.R. 2; Emerson F. Allmann, Detroit; Ralph E. Allmann, Acanum, O.; Mrs. Norman Dawald, North Manchester. He is survived also by one sister, Mrs. Rose Fishback, Peru, and thre brothers, George Allmann, Kokomo; John Allmann, Peru, and R.J. Allman, Lakeville, as well as two grandchildren.

The decedent belonged to Grace Evangelical United Brethren church of Urbana and was a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America Lodge.

The body was taken to the Jones Funeral home, this city, where friends may call. Services will be conducted in the Grace E.U.B. church, Urbana, at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. Joseph Shepard and the Rev. E.D. Mast officiating. #Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
