Arlee Arvest Brown, 79, Clever, passed away at 5:29 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 at the Ozark Regional Health Care Center in Crane. Arlee was born September 27, 1923, in Tilly, Arkansas, to the late Monroe and Martha (Crow) Brown.
He was united in marriage to Thelma Blair on June 8, 1946 at Witt Springs, Arkansas. They had made their home for the past 49 years in the Clever area. Arlee retired from Lily Tulip Cup Factory of Springfield in 1987.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lola Vick of Bergman, Arkansas, and Anna Maxwell of Billings; and one brother, Garland Brown of Tilly, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma of the home; two daughters, Bonnieta Stewart of Republic, and Donita Griffin and husband Karl of Granby, MO; two sons, Greg Brown and wife Rexanna of Springfield, and Gary Brown and wife Vickie of Clever; two sisters, Dorothy Warren of Tilly, AR, and Elsie Newman of Lampe, MO; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2002 at Meadors Funeral Homes, Clever, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. The chapel will be open at noon on Sunday.
