John Adam Emrich was born 12 Jun 1865 at Hawesville, Hancock Co KY, son of John Emrich Jr and Elizabeth Schmidt, both immigrants from Germany who came to the USA in 1848. John A Emrich married Rose Reed Rowan about 1900. She died 26 Oct 1918 of uremic poisoning after the birth of her youngest child Donald Proctor Emrich (see his grave). Rose was buried near the southeast corner of Jonesboro City Cemetery. Afterwards, John A Emrich and school teacher Frances V "Frankie" Killough married in Memphis, TN about 1923. She was born in TN on 7 Jan 1890, and died 31 Jan 1976 at Tyronza, and is also buried in Tyronza Cemetery. There were no children from this second marriage. John and his first wife Rose Rowan had eight:
